The Role
We're looking for someone creative, a little obsessive, and totally unconventional. Someone who sees a brand’s TikTok comment section and thinks “that’s a distribution channel.” You’ll own demand generation for Iris in the widest sense: finding our audience wherever they are, building clever ways to reach them, and turning attention into pipeline. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the Head of Marketing to make sure every move is sharp, on-brand, and coordinated.
Think growth and marketing in lockstep, not in silos. This is a role for someone who thrives on creative problem-solving, moves fast, and genuinely loves the game of growth. If your idea of fun is finding an angle nobody else has tried yet, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
Creative Demand Generation
• Dream up and execute unconventional campaigns to get Iris in front of consumer brand operators, DTC founders, and finance leaders through channels they actually use, not just their inbox.
• Use social platforms (LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, X) as active distribution levers, not just broadcast tools. Find where our audience hangs out and show up there in a way that earns attention.
• Expand upon referral, affiliate, and word-of-mouth programs that turn our existing customers and network into a growth engine.
• Identify distribution angles others aren’t using: niche newsletters, brand-adjacent creators, communities, or whatever you find that actually works.
Audience & Outreach
• Build targeted, well-researched lists of brands and operators that fit our ICP using tools like Apollo, Clay, Hubspot, and more.
• Craft outreach that doesn’t read like outreach. Personalized, creative, and genuinely relevant to the person receiving it.
• Coordinate closely with the Head of Marketing to ensure messaging is consistent, on-brand, and complementary to broader campaigns.
Experimentation & Optimization
• Run fast, structured experiments across channels: form a hypothesis, launch the test, measure results, kill what doesn’t work, and scale what does.
• Track the metrics that matter - reach, engagement, pipeline influenced, cost per lead - and report out clearly on what’s moving the needle.
• Bring new ideas constantly. We want someone who reads about a new growth tactic and has it tested by Friday.
Who You Are
• 2+ years of experience in growth, marketing, or a scrappy startup environment - raw creativity and hustle matter more than years on a resume
• Genuinely creative: you approach problems sideways, connect dots others miss, and are never satisfied with the obvious answer.
• Social-native. You live on LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, or X and understand how content and communities actually drive behavior.
• A strong writer who can craft messages that feel human, not templated.
• Comfortable in the tools: Apollo, Clay, HubSpot, or whatever it takes to get the job done.
• Data-literate: you track everything, form hypotheses, and make decisions based on what the numbers are telling you.
• Energized by ambiguity and building things from scratch.
• Genuine passion for the DTC/CPG space and the brands that are reshaping the consumer economy.
